Actor Ben Gazzara has died. Gazzara is probably best known for his work with director John Cassavetes, particularly The Killing Of A Chinese Bookie; on the stage in Cat On A Hot Tin Roof; and as the defendant in Otto Preminger’s  Anatomy Of A Murder. Gazzara was also Jackie Treehorn in Coen Bros.’ The Big Lebowski.  and a gangster in Spike Lee’s Summer of Sam.  The New York Times has an obituary.
