The 19th Annual Toronto After Dark Film Festival!

At Biff Bam Pop, the Gutter’s own Sachin Hingoo reports on the return of the Toronto After Dark Film Festival! “The annual Toronto After Dark Film Festival is a very special one for me in particular, and is the first film festival to roll the dice on a young, fledgling journalist by granting me press credentials for its sixth edition back in 2012. It’s also been responsible for introducing me to many of my favourite filmmakers, including Aaron Moorehead and Justin Benson, Mike Flanagan, Astron-6, and so many more, while being a platform and an incubator for horror, action, and independent cinema of all sorts for nearly two decades. We’ve been covering it here at BBP for a long time, but after the tragic passing of its founder, tireless advocate, and close friend Adam Lopez last year, it was uncertain if this important Toronto institution would continue.

For its 19th edition this October, longtime TADFF programmer and filmmaker Shannon Hamner has taken over as the Director of Programming and Toronto film scene mainstay Adam Bovoletis has taken the role of Festival Manager. Both, along with a dedicated team of staff, sponsors, and volunteers look to keep the legacy of TADFF alive while expanding its footprint.”
