It’s festival season and I was fortunate enough to receive credentials for this year’s Fantastic Fest! Who knows why but I’m going to do my best to engage with the art and write some thoughtful reflections on what I see. Even though I am attending remotely, I’m going to do all the festival things I can. I will schmooze here in my apartment. I will attend late night after parties and show off my shimmy shakes. I will write feverishly and sleep-deprivedly to deadline in a local cafe. I will walk around with a bunch of things hanging off a lanyard and slapping me in the stomach. I will say, at least once, “Do you know who I am? I am kind of a small deal.”
