Day 5 at Toronto International Film Festival 2026

The Gutter’s own Sachin Hingoo sees even more films at TIFF 26 including Takashi Miike’s Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo! He is joined by once again Karen Shute, Jeromme Graham, and Sanjay Rajput. Midnight Madness selections have a strong presence this time. Among the films they watched and discuss are: Matt Barats’ Anchors Aweigh; Banjong Pisanthanakun’s Inherit; Nick Kozakis’ Kick On; Barry Avrich’s Darlene Love: I Know Where I’ve Been (with Miss Love taking the stage with a song at the Q & A); more love for Deanté Gray’s Voices; Sung Kang’s Drifter; Paolo Strippoli’s The Spiral; and, of course Miike’s Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo.

“I’m not gonna lie, we’re halfway through the Festival and we’ve already consumed so much cinema that A24 is thinking of licensing the cerebral fluids leaking out of our ears. But Day Five brought us some big laughs, some big voices, some big surprises, and some even bigger kills from our posts at TIFF 2026. So let’s get into it!”
